2017 Operation Legacy - Fall

Event Recap

TMF's Operation Legacy: A National Week of Service aimed to cultivate character development in future generations. By uniting communities across the nation during one week through selfless service, volunteers live the “If Not Me, Then Who…” mantra.

During the Operation Legacy in November 2017, TMF supported fifty seven projects in ten states including California, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington D.C. along with sixteen Virtual Volunteer projects around the country. Over 1,800 volunteers registered/confirmed and participated in projects throughout the week and over 7,600 hours of service were performed.

Projects supported a multitude of needs throughout communities, from large scale neighborhood clean-ups in Philadelphia to removing invasive species in the wetlands of San Diego. Some of the projects supported Hurricane relief efforts in Houston and others collected and organized materials for care packages for deployed troops around the globe. Projects ranged in size from 7 volunteers to large community projects of over 300 participants.
