Top Character Strengths
HONESTY - HUMILITY - HUMOR
What character strength do you value the most and why?
Honesty. Honesty builds trust. Trust builds rapport and connection. Connection can change lives.
How do your top character strengths support your work at TMF?
My top character strengths work together well for TMF because honesty, coupled with open communication, makes the organization adaptable, flexible, and postured well to serve our community based on their needs. Humility is needed in all we do because we are a service organization and win only if our Spartans and their communities are thriving. Humor is greatly needed in a variety of situations and, when appropriately infused, it can be a great team building tool.
What do you enjoy most about working with veterans, survivors, and inspired civilians?
I enjoy working with veterans, survivors, and inspired civilians because they have a fire in their bellies and a bias for action. These traits lead to immediate results in the communities they serve and create hope for those craving for positive changes and leaders that can guide and inspire them. In the long run, leaders create leaders and the led become the next community leader.

Passions and Interests
My passion is my family. I could write volumes about them and they are what drives me to be better every day. I cherish every moment with them and the experiences we share. I'm also very passionate about youth development through coaching sports; specifically rugby, baseball. basketball, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.. When not on a pitch or ball field, I enjoy mentoring active duty servicemembers and veterans.
I served in the United States Marine Corps for 26 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Three (Marine Gunner). During this period, I served in 14 units, attended 40+ schools, and deployed 10 times to include combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. My favorite billets were as a Marine Scout Sniper, Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Instructor, and Infantry Weapons Officer.
