2019 Dallas, TX

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5k +1M fun run/walk welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all levels and of all ages. Events take place all over the world, on or near September 11th, and are 100% organized by local community volunteers. It is the perfect opportunity for your community to personally come out and thank your local veterans, their families, and first responders in an annual, fun, and family-friendly environment!

ADDITIONAL RACE DETAILS

Parking:

Free parking will be available in the Heritage Auctions parking garage directly across the street from Reverchon Park at 3500 Maple Avenue.  Volunteers will direct you, but please enter the garage on Maple, and proceed to the 3rd and 4th levels of the parking garage.  Please do not park in any space that has a Visitor, Reserved, etc. sign.  Street parking is also available, but be careful to comply with posted signs in the surrounding area.

 

Packet Pick Up:

Saturday, September 14th, 9am to 5pm at Luke’s Locker (3046 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas)

Sunday, September 15th, 7:30am to 9am at Reverchon Park (3505 Maple Avenue in Dallas) 

 

Opening Ceremony:

Plan to arrive early because you wont want to miss our Opening Ceremony starting at 8:30am, featuring inspirational stories of service and sacrifice from DFW-area heroes of 9/11 and gold star families. 

 

Course:

The course is an out-and-back course, starting and ending in Reverchon Park, and along the Katy Trail. The course and event are family, stroller, and dog friendly!

 

Medals:

Medals will be given to top 3 male and female overall finishers, top 3 male and female finishers in each of 9 age groups, and top 3 male and female GORUCK finishers at our Closing Ceremony immediately following the race.

 

After Party:

The Katy Trail Ice House has offered to host and provide snacks at our after party directly following the Closing Ceremony.  You can plan to walk there on the Katy Trail from Reverchon Park, or you can drive and valet park there.  Just keep your race bib on so they’ll know you are part of the after party!  The Katy Trail Ice House is located at 3127 Routh Street.

Travis Manion Foundation is proud to partner with GORUCK again in 2019, bringing rucking divisions to every 9/11 Heroes Run. Rucking is a sport grounded in Special Forces Training in which participants carry weighted rucksacks. All participants registered for the GORUCK division will receive this exclusive Travis Manion Foundation GORUCK patch.
