After crossing under the pedestrian bridge, make your second right turn onto Montezuma Rd. and go 0.4 miles. Turn right onto 55th St. At the first stoplight at Hardy Ave., you will see a parking structure, P7 on your left. Turn left into the parking garage.  Parking on campus is $3 an hour for 1 – 4 hours and $15 for 5 -10 hours. We recommend downloading the application ahead of time and entering in all of your information (vehicle, payment information, etc.) prior to race morning. o Pay by machine. There is a pay machine located on the ground floor of the parking garage near where you entered the garage. You will need to have your license plate number available as well as a credit card. There are no cash payment options.  If for any reason parking is not available in P7, continue down 55th St. to Aztec Circle Drive and follow signs to P12. Race Location  The race will be at ENS field (east of Viejas Arena). To get to the race venue from P7 (see attached map): o From within the parking garage, follow signs for access to main campus and sports deck. You will pass the Student Veterans House on the corner. o After one block, turn right onto Aztec Walk. Follow Aztec walk all the way to the venue. You will pass Viejas Arena on your left and when you come to the set of steps, continue left of those steps up the pedestrian walkway. The ENS field will be on your left. FAQs: Q: Can I pick up my spouse/sibling/co-worker/neighbor’s packet? A: YES! You are welcome to pick up other race participant’s packets. Just be sure to let them know you are picking it up to avoid confusion or unnecessary standing in line. If you are picking up for a large group (8+), please email sandiego@911heroesrun.org with the complete list of names of all packets you will be picking up and our volunteers will pull your packets together. We must have the first and last name of all participants. We cannot pull by team name only. Q: I registered to run but now can’t participate. Can I give my bib to someone else? A: Yes, you may transfer your registration to another runner, but YOU MUST NOTIFY us BEFORE race day. The San Diego 9/11 Heroes Run is timed, and results are posted based on the information originally assigned to each bib. If you are female and give your bib to a male, his finishing time will be put into the female standings and could skew the results. It is imperative you contact us before the race to properly transfer your bib to a new runner. Required information for transfer is Name, Age or Date of Birth, Gender, Email Address, City and State of Residence, and Race Division. Please email sandiego@911heroesrun.org to transfer your bib. Q: I registered for the 5K but want to do the 5K GORUCK. Can I change divisions? A: Yes, you may change to a different division, but YOU MUST NOTIFY us. If you do not notify us of your division change, you could skew race results and impact the final standings. Please email sandiego@911heroesrun.org to change divisions. Please note, registration for the GORUCK division is $5 more. If you transfer to the GORUCK division from the regular 5K division, you must pay an additional $5. The GORUCK division has very specific rules and regulations if you will be competing for a medal. Please review the GORUCK rules and regulations very carefully. Rucks must be weighed on race day no later than 7:30 AM at the GORUCK tent in order to qualify for a medal. Please arrive early to account for the time it will take to weigh your ruck.

Travis Manion Foundation is proud to partner with GORUCK again in 2019, bringing rucking divisions to every 9/11 Heroes Run. Rucking is a sport grounded in Special Forces Training in which participants carry weighted rucksacks. All participants registered for the GORUCK division will receive this exclusive Travis Manion Foundation GORUCK patch. Please read the rules and requirements carefully as they have changed since last year and learn all about GORUCK here.
