Tacoma, WA/GORUCK - Spring 2019

Please join TMF and Team RWB JBLM Ruck Club in a donation ruck through the streets of Tacoma delivering donated food, coffee, mugs, etc., to members of our community in need.  Tacoma is a hot and hip community experiencing unprecedented growth yet, unfortunately, leaving some behind.

We honor the legacy of US Army Sergeant First Class Nathan Ross Chapman who's combat service included Haiti, Panama and the Persian Gulf War. In 1989, he parachuted into Panama during the invasion of that country. He also served in Operation Desert Storm and later attended the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Assigned to the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) following the September 11th attacks, Chapman was directing troop movements from the back of a flatbed truck when his unit was attacked. Chapman was the first military casualty to die by enemy fire during the war in Afghanistan. SFC Chapman was buried at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington on January 11, 2002.

Forward Operating Base Chapman was named after SFC Chapman.
