EDMOND, OK - GIRL POWER: GOODNIGHT BAGS

Travis Manion Foundation and the Edmond Santa Fe Pom Squad is partnering to launch a meaningful Operation Legacy service project aimed at bringing comfort and dignity to children entering the foster care system.

Participants will focus on assembling overnight comfort bags for children who are being removed from their homes and placed into foster care—often with little notice and very few personal belongings.

Children entering foster care frequently face emotional distress and uncertainty. By preparing thoughtful, personalized overnight bags, the Pom Squad will help provide a sense of security and kindness during one of the most vulnerable moments in a child’s life. Each bag is a message that says: You are not alone. You are seen. You are cared for.

We are looking for donations to help fill the bags. Items needed include:

  • Stuffed animals

  • Battery-powered night lights

  • Activity books for kids

  • Small portable blankets

We will be accepting donations through August 10, 2025. If mailing items, please send them to:

18220 Auburn Meadows Drive
Edmond, OK 73012

This project aims to plant the seeds of sustained service and leadership among student-athletes. It not only serves immediate community needs but also lays the foundation for a culture of character that lasts beyond high school.

This project will honor the life and legacy of SPC Sarina N. Butcher, USA.
