Operation Legacy
Veterans in Service: Operation Save Our Saguaros
Serve shoulder-to-shoulder with volunteers from The Mission Continues, which was recently acquired by Travis Manion Foundation. Veterans in Service projects like this one are made possible by support from Navy Federal Credit Union.
This year in celebration of Veteran's Day we will be teaming up with Natural Restorations to plant cacti in burn scarred areas of the Four Peaks Recreation Area and clear invasice species of grasses that drive devastating wildfires.
This event is not in the Phoenix metro area and participants will need to drive out to the site for the event. We encourage platoon members to carpool! If you are interested reach out to our Platoon Leader, Mike Montiel, to help make connections to other Platoon Members who are registered.
Nature is a great space to enjoy volunteering and can also be an ideal place to find catharsis, peace, and connection. Working in natural spaces give our minds the opportunity to roam and see things we might otherwise be too busy to notice and appreciate. The Four Peaks area is an incredibly beautiful place that is recovering from multiple wildfires over the last several years and our partnership with Natural Restorations seeks to disrupt those cycles of destruction by reintroducing native cacti back into the ecosystem and remove invasive and harmful grasses that is a destructive fuel source for wildfires as they tear through our deserts.
Spots are limited as this is a special event. Please only sign up via our main TMC registration page. We really hope you can help us support the amazing work being done by Natural Restorations and we look forward to working together.
