Please join TMF and Houston Rucking Club to step-off in a 4-mile ruck along the heavily populated underpasses handing out pre-made sundry bags to the homeless.
We honor the legacy of US Army Staff Sergeant Merlin Quiles, a Houston native and passionate volunteer who gave back supporting many combat veterans' organizations such as Wounded Warrior Project and University of Houston Veterans. Merlin was a tireless volunteer for the Special Olympics and was a mentor to young service members making the transition from military to civilian life. He was an avid lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed surfing, wake-boarding, snowboarding, hiking, camping, fishing, and participating in “mud run” obstacle courses. Merlin never met a stranger and was known for helping anyone he came in contact with. He was extremely close to his family.
