Ricky joined the US Army right out of high school. After 20 years in the military he was looking forward to serving out his remaining time in Iraq, so he could retire from the military the summer of 2004. Crockett, 38, of Broxton, Ga., was killed in Baghdad by an improvised explosive device while serving with the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, N.C.

Ricky’s service and sacrifice were honored during the 2016 Survivor Summit and the 2016 New Mexico Expedition.
