Students, family members, veterans, and community leaders united on April 20, 2019, with one mission: to do something that Andrew would’ve done.
Captain Andrew Ross, a West Point graduate and Virginia native, gave his life tragically on November 27, 2018, during his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Friends and family fondly remembered Drew for his commitment to service and to his nation. So in Drew’s legacy, 75 inspired Spartans gathered in Richmond, Virginia, to take part in an Operation Legacy service project. The group renovated a local school, planting flowers and painting murals, and then completed a ruck in Drew’s memory.
This project was one of more than 100 that took place across the country, and exemplifies our purpose: honoring the legacy of our fallen heroes, and doing so while building character in young people. TMF leads Operation Legacy twice a year, throughout the months of April and November, to unite communities through service.
