Position Summary

The Social Media & Podcast Manager will support the growth of Travis Manion Foundation through management of The Resilient Life podcast and the social media channels that support it. The ideal candidate is creative and agile, with the ability to create content that aligns with current social trends while also following the world of podcasts. This individual must demonstrate excellent project management skills and an ability to handle tight deadlines and multiple lines of effort at once.

We are accepting candidates who live in the Greater Philadelphia Area. The expectation is that this manager will come to TMF’s office in Doylestown, PA 2-3 days per week to work with the Chief Executive Officer and the Marketing & Communications team for planning meetings and podcast recordings. This is not a fully remote position.

Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) unites communities to strengthen America's national character by empowering veterans and families of fallen to develop and lead future generations. In 2007, 1stLt Travis Manion was killed in Iraq while saving his wounded teammates. Travis' legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, "If Not Me, Then Who..." Guided by this mantra, veterans continue their service, develop strong relationships with their communities, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Marketing & Communications department on the development and growth of TheResilient Life podcast and other dissemination channels with an emphasis on bringing every effort back to the main Travis Manion Foundation brand.
  • Lead and ideate content creation and plans to promote the podcast that align with the podcast’s brand and TMF’s brand and highlights current social trends.
    • Create various forms of social media content – text captions, videos, and images – suitable for the various social media platforms: Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to create a social media plan for the podcast in addition to content for each episode’s dissemination.
  • Podcast support includes:
    • Oversee the management of podcast projects, processes, budget, timelines, and calendars.
    • Identify prospective guests for the show as well as pitching TMF leadership to appear on other strategic podcasts.
    • Manage the scheduling, recording, and work with creative vendors on the production of podcasts, providing detailed instructions and feedback.
    • Coordinate with internal teams on the operations, marketing, and distribution of the podcast.
    • Research and track the performance of the podcast using industry standard analytics making informed recommendations on creative improvements.
    • Work with the Marketing & Communications department to identify potential revenue generating tactics for the podcast.
    • Keep up with industry trends and communicate the ROI of the show to internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; minimum of 2 years’ experience in content creation, innovation, and planning.
  • Previous experience with project management in social media, marketing, and/or advertising is a must.
  • Knowledge of social media best practices and experience using Canva for basic graphic design needs.
  • Takes the initiative to develop content ideas on their own.
  • Demonstrated ability to create original content for social media that aligns with trends and changing algorithms.
  • Avid podcast consumer, with a passion for podcast content and a penchant for staying on top of industry trends.
  • Excellent and persuasive communicator with exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with outstanding attention to detail, excellent project management and organizational skills, and professional customer service skills.
  • Must be self-reliant and initiative-driven, while still being an effective and collaborative team member; energetic, flexible, and proactive. This manager will need to build relationships with multiple executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams!
  • Remains focused and efficient in the face of pressure, delivers results with timelines; not intimidated by complex tasks, challenging timelines, or a fast-paced work environment. Exceptional problem-solving skills are a key determinant of success in this role!
  • Dedicated to the foundation’s mission and has a passion for service/community development.
  • Military service is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfortable with occasional work needing to be done during non-business hours, with ample notice provided.

The pay for this position is $60-65k and is based on the candidate’s work experience, skills, and abilities. TMF offers a benefits package, which includes medical and dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life and participation in our 401(k) program, to name a few. In addition, we have an attractive PTO policy along with holidays and paid parental leave.
