Travis Manion Foundation will be traveling to Palmer, AK for a 7-day service expedition, July 28 - August 2, 2024. The Expedition is exclusively open to Military Family Members of the Fallen.

There is no cost to attend this incredible opportunity, but we do ask that all applicants be 18 years of age and at least 24 months out from their loss. Prior engagement with TMF is not required to apply, but future engagement is encouraged!

ALASKA EXPEDITION OVERVIEW:

Throughout the 7-day expedition, the emphasis will be healing through connection, empowerment, and helping others in need. Expedition participants will serve with the 98-Fund, a veteran nonprofit, in support of #TheAlaskaProject initiative, while honoring the legacy of their fallen heroes. Also, participants will focus on their personal & unique character & leadership development. Our team will dedicate three days to the service project. The service components and team-building experiences will require working outdoors for several hours.

All participants will be staying in rustic and shared cabins. Please prepare for minimal accommodations.

The week will be capped off by a strenuous trek and steep climb to the summit of Gold Star Peak, led by certified guides from Remedy Alpine (a locally run Veteran non-profit). Due to the very steep elevation gain and ungroomed trails, please only apply if you are physically fit and able to train for this high intensity.

All participants selected for this Expedition must be available to attend three mandatory virtual Zoom sessions with the group. Pre-expedition, participants and TMF staff can begin building relationships and prepare for the Expedition. There will also be a post-expedition zoom where participants will explore ways to stay involved with TMF
