Matt was a tall and wildly funny man from Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. He wanted dearly to enlist into the USMC, and did so after fulfilling a promise to his mother to finish college. Upon graduating from Penn State, he enlisted into the USMC, and commissioned as an officer after having achieved the rank of Sgt. He always had his Marines at the forefront of his choices, and loved his kids fiercely. 

"Matt had this awful shirt he bought on clearance as a brand-new enlisted Marine. It's covered in a print of palm leaves, and feathers. I can't emphasize enough how hideous it is. He insisted in wearing it all the time. When he passed nearly all of the pictures we had over the course of several years looked like one giant night of partying. I strongly speculate that he would do something ridiculous like that on purpose." - Submitted by family
