Please join TMF, the Phoenix Chapter, and several partner VSOs as we beautify the Rio Salado Habitat Area!
We'll be joined by The Mission Continues, Team RWB, Wounded Warrior Project, and Team Rubicon as we work to restore local habitat to satisfactory condition.
Several projects will be underway and will need hands to support. Those include, but are not limited to removing brush & undergrowth, weeding, removing trash, removing general refuse, picking invasive grasses, trimming trees, and possibly painting over graffiti.
We will be down in the Salt River bottom, working both along the paved trail that runs through the Habitat and off the trail. The latter terrain is rocky.
If you're inclined to work off trail there are hazards to be aware of including rocky terrain, thorny undergrowth, and wildlife.
Gloves will be provided. Please wear closed toed shoes, preferably work boots if you have them!
Food & beverage will be provided.
Youth are welcome and encouraged, however, they are recommended to be 12 and older.
This project will honor the life and legacy of Sgt. Thomas Z. Spitzer, USMC.
