Jennifer Hickey never saw herself as much of a runner, but when someone issued the grand challenge to run the Marine Corps Marathon, she took them up on it. Afterward, she was hooked. In 2018, she committed to running 53 marathons in honor of 53 fallen heroes. “I can’t serve, but I can do something else,” Jennifer says. “I can run and I can honor. If we don’t remember these families and the people who serve now, and have served, and will serve, then we’ve forgotten what this nation is all about.”

Jennifer Hickey ran the Marine Corps Marathon with team TMF as part of her 53 Marathon Challenge. Travis Manion Foundation has organized a team to run this marathon every year since 2007, when 1stLt Travis Manion was killed in Iraq.
