Len Kortekaas

Managing Director in Private Wealth Management Merrill Lynch

Len Kortekaas is a Managing Director, Private Wealth Advisor, and Global Institutional Consultant with Merrill Private Wealth Management. Len advises ultra-high-net-worth clients on their complex wealth management needs. Len holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designations.  He works with a select group of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions to develop integrated financial strategies. He has particular depth in strategic asset allocation, investment manager selection, portfolio construction, risk assessment, and performance reporting.

Len began his financial services career in 1994 at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Vice President in Private Wealth Management. After a brief stint at Credit Suisse, Len joined Merrill Private Wealth Management in 2014. 

Len earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Len was commissioned as an US Army Aviation officer and was the Distinguished Graduate of his flight training class. He served as Captain in the U.S. Army and was Company Commander and an AH-64 Apache Pilot in the Persian Gulf War, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, and Air Medal for Valor. Len also holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Len was the Board Chair for The Mission Continues, a national veterans community impact non-profit organization he has long supported.  He also served on the JA of Southern California Board and on the Wake Forest University Parents’ Athletic Advisory Council.
