UNITING COMMUNITIES TO HONOR FALLEN HEROES
TMF athletic events provide opportunities to activate communities nationwide to remember and honor the sacrifices of our nation’s fallen heroes in unique ways. Sponsored by TMF and executed by local volunteers on the ground, TMF athletic events take place throughout the year, involving athletes of all ages and abilities in 5k events, workouts, and more.
A SEPTEMBER 11TH EVENT TO HONOR FIRST RESPONDERS + VETERANS
Our largest athletic event, the 9/11 Heroes Run series takes place each September nationwide and brings together 60,000 people across 90 communities to honor the sacrifices of September 11th. Each event pays tribute to the first responders who gave their lives on that tragic day and the men and women who answered the call to serve in the wars that followed. These annual events unite athletes and dedicated volunteers to ensure our nation continues to fulfill the promise we made over two decades ago to never forget.

A TEAM TMF TRADITION TO HONOR THE FALLEN IN OUR NATION’S CAPITAL
During 1stLt Travis Manion’s final deployment to Iraq in 2007, he made a promise to run the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC, with his father but sacrificed his life before he could return home and fulfill his promise. That year, a small group of family and friends united to run on Travis' behalf. Since then, Team TMF has grown to include hundreds of participants who complete the marathon, 50K, & 10K every October in honor of Travis and all of our nation’s fallen.
