Position Summary
The Director of Partnerships is a key leadership role responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of 75 corporate and foundation relationships that support TMF’s mission. This individual will lead the development, execution, and expansion of corporate and foundation partnerships that result in meaningful funding, in-kind support, and programmatic alignment. This director will oversee a team focused on delivering outstanding partner experiences while ensuring long-term sustainability and mutual value.
This role is ideal for a strategic relationship-builder who excels at cultivating new corporate sponsorships, stewarding existing partners, and maximizing partner engagement through events, activations, and collaborative initiatives.
TMF will accept applications from anywhere in the continental United States but there is a preference for candidates who live on the east coast, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast.

Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) unites communities to strengthen America's national character by empowering veterans and families of fallen to develop and lead future generations. In 2007, 1stLt Travis Manion was killed in Iraq while saving his wounded teammates. Travis' legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, "If Not Me, Then Who..." Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
New Revenue & Funding Growth
- Lead efforts to identify and secure new corporate and foundation funding sources, prioritizing sectors and partners aligned with TMF’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Drive funding growth of TMF’s existing partnership base by leading strategic outreach efforts, cultivating new opportunities, and partnering with the Partnerships team to achieve annual revenue goals and execute the organization’s broader Development strategy.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships team to build a dynamic pipeline of high-potential leads, informed by data and market intelligence; special focus on supporting the top-tier funder pipeline.
- Instill a culture of innovation and proactive fundraising across the partnerships team, ensuring growth targets are met through continuous exploration and execution of new opportunities.
Corporate Partner Strategy & Development
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to support the overall Development annual plan by growing TMF’s corporate and foundation partnership program, with a focus on sustainable revenue and high-impact collaboration.
- Oversee the development and renewal of partnership agreements, ensuring clarity of scope, deliverables, and timeline.
Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of 75 national corporate and foundation partners, ensuring a high level of service, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Develop and implement stewardship plans that highlight impact and strengthen relationships through timely communication, reporting, and recognition.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal efforts to deliver on partnership commitments (e.g. employee engagement, co-branded events, or program support).
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team responsible for partnership operations and corporate and foundation account management.
- Set team goals, measure performance, and ensure accountability in partnership development and service.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, strategic thinking, and results.
- Direct reports for this position include: Director of Corporate Relations and Growth, Senior Manager of Partnerships & Grants, Manager of Corporate Partnerships.
Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Development, Events, Programs, and Marcomms teams to execute high-impact partner activations and deliverables.
- Assist with the creation of marketing assets, presentations, and reports tailored to partner needs.
- Ensure all corporate partnership activity is accurately tracked in CRM (Salesforce) and other systems.
Performance Management
- Establish KPIs to evaluate partnership performance, track fundraising results, and inform future growth strategies.
- Provide regular updates and performance reports to the Senior Director of Development and executive leadership.
External Representation
- Represent TMF in external meetings, events, and presentations as a key ambassador of the brand and mission.
- Attend national and regional partner engagements and cultivation events (travel up to 25-35%).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 -6 years of experience in corporate fundraising or partnership development in the nonprofit sector.
- Proven success in securing and managing corporate partnerships and sponsorships of $500,000+
- Highly competent with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite, proficiency with Salesforce (or similar databases).
- Demonstrated relationship-building and client service skills, with a strong ability to align mission with partner objectives.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be self-reliant and initiative-driven, while still being an effective and collaborative team member.

- Experience managing and mentoring staff preferred.
- Remains focused and efficient in the face of pressure and an ever-changing environment.
- Dedicated to the foundation’s mission and has a passion for service/community development.
- Military service and or connected to the U.S. military is a plus, but not required.
- Travel up to 35% of the time for meetings, partner cultivation, and national events. Flexibility to accommodate occasional evening and weekend work.
- Must have their own car in working condition and a valid driver’s license. Proof of automobile insurance is required. TMF does reimburse for mileage when a personal vehicle is used for business travel.

The pay for this position is based on the candidate’s work experience, skills, and abilities. TMF offers a benefits package, which includes medical and dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life and participation in our 401(k) program, to name a few. In addition, we have an attractive PTO policy along with holidays and paid parental leave.
