Position Summary
The Merchandising and Events Operations Manager will support the daily operations of Travis Manion Foundation’s (TMF) Events department, while reporting to the Senior Director of Events. This role is integral to the growth and success of all TMF events, which include special events and athletic events. Key responsibilities include sourcing and managing TMF’s merchandising efforts, managing the TMF online shopping platform, and providing logistical support to events throughout the year. This manager will play a critical role in alignment efforts for the Events department.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and demonstrates exceptional project management experience. Success in this position requires a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and a proactive problem-solving approach. This position is based out of TMF’s headquarters office in Doylestown, PA. This is not a remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Merchandise Management

  • Lead all merchandise operations for the Events Team, including athletic and special events, staff outfitting, and fundraiser gifts.
  • Source and select merchandise that aligns with TMF’s brand and event goals.
  • Collaborate closely with TMF’s designer to develop and approve all branding, artwork, and logo placement for apparel and merchandise. Ensure all merchandise design elements are consistent with TMF’s branding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Events Team to select, price, and manage merchandise for individual events, including all special and athletic events.
  • Manage event inventory levels, reorder cycles, and storage logistics.
  • Organize and oversee merchandise photoshoots for promotional and E-Store use.
  • Monitor merchandise performance and make recommendations to improve sales and engagement.

E-Store Oversight

  • Manage TMF’s e-store operations using Shopify, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly online shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to plan and execute seasonal and annual sales, promotions, and e-commerce campaigns.
  • Oversee product listings, imagery, descriptions, and pricing.
  • Track sales data and user behavior to inform strategy.
  • Coordinate with vendors and fulfillment partners for seamless operations.

Event Support

  • Provide event planning and logistical support for two major events: the TMF Gala and the Marine Corps Marathon.
  • Attend and support additional in-person events, assisting with merchandise sales and on-the-ground logistics.
  • Collaborate with team members and volunteers to ensure efficient event execution.

Salesforce Integration

  • Serve as the Salesforce lead for the Events Team, supporting system integration and data alignment across events.
  • Partner with the Data & Technology and Development teams to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Train team members on Salesforce tools and best practices for event tracking and constituent engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or prior military service) is preferred but not required; minimum of 2 years’ work experience in event planning, customer service, retail and merchandising, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Strong background in merchandise operations and online retail (preferably non-profit or mission driven organizations).
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite, familiar with Salesforce (or similar databases) and systems for entering and managing data.
  • Excellent and persuasive communicator with exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with outstanding attention to detail, excellent project management and organizational skills, and professional customer service skills.
  • Must be self-reliant and initiative-driven, while still being an effective and collaborative team member; energetic, flexible, and proactive.
  • Remains focused and efficient in the face of pressure and an ever-changing environment, delivers results with timelines; not intimidated by complex tasks, challenging timelines, or a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must have their own car in working condition and a valid driver’s license. Proof of automobile insurance is required. TMF does reimburse for mileage when a personal vehicle is used for business travel.
  • Travel to TMF events at least 20% of the time.
  • Military service is a plus, but not required.
  • Dedicated to the foundation’s mission and has a passion for service/community development.

Compensation

The pay for this position is $60-65k and is based on the candidate’s work experience, skills, and abilities. TMF offers a benefits package, which includes medical and dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life and participation in our 401(k) program, to name a few. In addition, we have an attractive PTO policy along with holidays and paid parental leave.
