Position Summary
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager is responsible for the overall performance and operations of the region to ensure the continued growth of Travis Manion Foundation within local communities. This includes the execution of TMF programs, support of TMF initiatives/national campaigns, and activation of volunteers. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager will oversee the planning and implementation of TMF activities and events and maintain and build relationships to amplify the work of TMF.
TMF is accepting candidates in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. You can expect to be traveling to programs and events at least 25% of the time. This is not a fully remote position. Veterans are highly encouraged to apply for this role!

Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) unites communities to strengthen America's national character by empowering veterans and families of fallen to develop and lead future generations. In 2007, 1stLt Travis Manion was killed in Iraq while saving his wounded teammates. Travis' legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, "If Not Me, Then Who..." Guided by this mantra, veterans continue their service, develop strong relationships with their communities, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Regional Operations
- Innovate methods to increase volunteer engagement, provide worthwhile opportunities to members, and solve for gaps in the volunteer pipeline.
- Serves as the principal liaison for local chapters which may also include identifying chapter leaders, attending chapter events, and providing resources to chapters for executing events.
- Executes guidance for the coordination of all TMF program-related events and ensures quality control for regional programs to improve local operations.
- Review and analyze reports, summarize information, and identify trends to best inform and make decisions for regional operations.
- Collects stories that show TMF as the leader in the character (leadership and service) space.
Regional Partnerships
- Steward relationships that further programmatic goals – employee resource groups, Veteran Service Organizations, schools, etc.
- Maintain oversight of established national strategic partners and programmatic commitments to fulfill partnership agreements.
- Maximize opportunities to collaborate with local organizations with aligned interest and mutually beneficial outcomes.
National Support
- Serve as the local regional contact for National TMF Initiatives including third-party fundraisers, athletic events, and community service events to ensure successful execution.
- Support TMF national events by recruiting volunteer leaders and participants, promoting events through various channels, cultivating deeper relationships locally, providing TMF supplies/resources, and attending local events hosted, etc.
Miscellaneous Activities
- Shares TMF content through social media posts, videos, flyers.
- Updating weekly reports, completing feedback forms, and after-action reports.
- Allocates resources and ensures financial compliance.
- Tracks, updates, and maintains data associated with regional volunteers.
- Supports the distribution and collection of surveys to define TMF impact.
- Attend regional events, some after-hours/weekend work. Travel at least 25% of the time.
- Assigns Tasks, provides support and ensures the timely completion of projects.
- Plan, support and execute events in the area including transportation, operation and maintenance of the Beaverfit Fitness Trailers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or previous military service) is highly preferred; minimum of 2 years’ work experience in volunteer management, program management, human services, social work, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex and disparate operations and individuals.
- Demonstrated skill in proactively building and maintaining high-impact relationships.
- Highly competent with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite, familiar with Salesforce (or similar databases) and systems for managing program related data.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and customer service-skills; must be self-reliant and initiative-driven, while still being an effective and collaborative team member.
- Excellent and persuasive communicator with exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Remains focused and efficient in the face of pressure, delivers results with timelines; not intimidated by complex tasks, challenging timelines, or a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have their own car in working condition and a valid driver’s license. Proof of automobile insurance is required. TMF does reimburse for mileage when a personal vehicle is used for business travel.

Compensation
For the past seven years, Travis Manion Foundation has been recognized as a “Best Nonprofit to Work For” by the Nonprofit Times.
The pay for this position is $60-65k and is based on the candidate’s work experience, skills, and abilities. TMF offers a benefits package, which includes medical and dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life and participation in our 401(k) program, to name a few. In addition, we have an attractive PTO policy along with holidays and paid parental leave.
