Spc. Eric Thomas Burri 1-Mile Hero Dedication

Running in Honor of Spc. Eric Thomas Burri
Specialist Eric Thomas Burri served as a 92R Parachute Rigger with the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg.
Volunteered to deploy as a convoy security gunner in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Was killed on June 20, 2005, when his Humvee struck an improvised explosive device (IED) near Baghdad, Iraq.
Defense casualty records, SPC Eric Thomas Burri is the only U.S. Army Parachute Rigger (MOS 92R) killed in action during the Iraq War. His sacrifice is remembered within the Parachute Rigger community because he willingly accepted a dangerous mission outside his MOS in support of fellow Soldiers.
