Join your community on September 12 at 8:30 AM at Trash Panda Stadium (Toyota Field) for the 2026 Huntsville 9/11 Heroes Run.

The 2026 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and honor the heroes who stepped up to serve that day and in the wars that followed. This event helps ensure future generations understand the significance of September 11, 2001, and continue to honor our first responders and service members for years to come.

Packet Pickup options:
1. Friday, 11 September from 12:00-5:00pm at RunningLane (2407 Memorial Pkwy SW)
2. Saturday, 12 September from 7:00-8:15am at Toyota Field (right field gate). ALL ruckers wanting to compete for an award will need to have their ruck weighed during this time.
Parking: Please see shaded areas for participant parking. Do not park in the first row of the main parking lot to allow space for EMS vehicles to include the ladder truck that will be displaying the American flag at the start line.
Route: We apologize in advance to our hill lovers. The buildup of the Town Madison area necessitated a new (flatter) route this year. Please familiarize yourself with the routes and remember that we have three sets of participants using two routes (1 mile vs. 5K). We will endeavor to have excellent course marshals and markings in place. For the out/back portion of sideway to Zierdt Road, please employ a "rules of the road" approach with slower traffic staying to the right and staying single file unless passing.
Aid on the course: A single water point will support the course. 5K runners and ruckers will pass it twice on your two laps. Please hydrate pre-race as extended forecasts show race time temps in the low 80's.
Post race: After receiving your Finishers medal on the field, you'll be directed up the stairs to the shade of the concourse to enjoy refreshments in the beer garden.
Awards: Ceremony for overall and age group winners will begin at 10:00am in the Finishers' refreshment area / beer garden.

GORUCK RUCKING DIVISION

Travis Manion Foundation is proud to partner with GORUCK again in 2026, bringing rucking divisions to every 9/11 Heroes Run. Rucking is a sport grounded in Special Forces Training in which participants carry weighted rucksacks.
