Join your community on Sunday, September 13 at 8:00 AM at Oakton Elementary School for the 2026 Northern Virginia 9/11 Heroes Run.

The 2026 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and honor the heroes who stepped up to serve that day and in the wars that followed. This event helps ensure future generations understand the significance of September 11, 2001, and continue to honor our first responders and service members for years to come.

Join your community in fulfilling the promise we made 25 years ago to never forget.

TIME: 12:00-3:30PM
WHERE: Settle Down Easy Brewing - 2952 Chain Bridge Road, Oakton
(please do NOT go to the Falls Church location)

OR

Sunday, September 13th - Race Day
Registration Tables will be located on the basketball courts at the back of Oakton Elementary.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND PICKING UP YOUR PACKET ON SATURDAY.

If you are participating in the GORUCK division you must check-in race morning to weigh your ruck and pickup your patch. You may still pickup your packet on Saturday.

RACE DAY INFORMATION
Please plan to leave time for parking. PARKING IS NOT PERMITTED AT OAKTON ELEMENTARY MAIN LOT. please park at the Oakton Shopping Center (2912 Chain Bridge Rd) where Giant and Starbucks are located.

The start/finish line is at the back of Oakton Elementary near the Kiss & Ride lane.

Our Opening Ceremony will begin at 7:40AM. The race gun will go at 8:00AM. We are thrilled to welcome the FCPD Pipe and Drum band and Honor Guard.

There will be one water station on course.

IN HONOR OF THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A MEDAL. In addition, the top 3 finishers in each age group Male/Female will receive a medal. WE DO NOT MAIL MEDALS. If you believe you have placed in your age group please remain onsite until medals are awarded.

STROLLERS AND DOGS ARE PERMITTED ON COURSE.

POST RACE PLEASE JOIN US AT SETTLE DOWN EASY BREWERY FOR BREAKFAST BISCUITS AND BREWS! THE TASTING ROOM WILL ONCE AGAIN BE OPEN FOR US AND IS JUST BEYOND THE FINISH LINE!

GORUCK RUCKING DIVISION

Travis Manion Foundation is proud to partner with GORUCK again in 2026, bringing rucking divisions to every 9/11 Heroes Run. Rucking is a sport grounded in Special Forces Training in which participants carry weighted rucksacks. All participants registered for the GORUCK division will receive this year's exclusive TMF GORUCK patch. Please read the rules and requirements carefully.
