The 2026 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and honor the heroes who stepped up to serve that day and in the wars that followed. This event helps ensure future generations understand the significance of September 11, 2001, and continue to honor our first responders and service members for years to come.

  • GORUCK RUCKING DIVISION

    Travis Manion Foundation is proud to partner with GORUCK again in 2026, bringing rucking divisions to every 9/11 Heroes Run. Rucking is a sport grounded in Special Forces Training in which participants carry weighted rucksacks.   • TSgt. Wesley "Wes" Kubie 1-Mile Hero Dedication

    Running in Honor of TSgt. Wesley "Wes" Kubie

    On 8 June 2021, TSgt Wesley “Wes” Kubie, an active guard/reserve (AGR) member, was performing Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) duties at Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range in McPherson, Kansas. He was serving as a JTAC-Instructor for the Kansas Air National Guard, assigned to the 284th Air Support Operations Squadron. Wes was riding in a HMMWV and was critically injured when it overturned during the training. Unfortunately, he did not survive the injuries he sustained in the accident. Wes was a combat veteran and had recently returned from a year-long deployment in Afghanistan. He was born in Merriam, KS on 8 December 1990 and graduated from Shawnee Heights high school before joining the Air Force. He is survived by his wife Abbey and their three children Jaxson, Wyatt, and Kennedy.
