GORUCK RUCKING DIVISION
Travis Manion Foundation is proud to partner with GORUCK again in 2025, bringing rucking divisions to every 9/11 Heroes Run. Rucking is a sport grounded in Special Forces Training in which participants carry weighted rucksacks. Captain John D. Titus
CAPT Titus enlisted in the Navy in 1982 and attended the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) program. He earned his commission through the U.S. Naval Academy in 1987 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Math. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a Master of Business Administration in e-Business from the University of Phoenix. In addition, he is also a graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College and completed the Executive Development Programs from San Diego State University, Tench Francis School of Business, University of North Carolina - Kenan-Flagler Business School, Penn State - Smeal Business School, and University of Penn - Wharton Business School.
CAPT Titus has served in a variety key leadership positions afloat and ashore, providing him a diverse Navy background and extensive experience in the full spectrum of logistics. At sea, he served as Supply Officer VFA 146 and Carrier Battle Group Logistics Officer for Desert Storm Cruise, USS NIMITZ (CVN 68); Supply Officer, USS CORONADO (AGF 11); Assistant Supply Officer and Decom Supply Officer, USS SIMON LAKE (AS 33) participating in Kosovo Operations; ACOS for Logistics (N4), ESG-1 participating in Iraqi Freedom and serving as the CJ4/Director of Logistics for the Combined Disaster Assistance Center - Pakistan for the 6-month Pakistan Earthquake Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) Mission OPERATION LIFELINE.
Ashore, he has served at Naval Air Station, Lemoore; Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego; Naval Air Systems Command; Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia and NATO HQ Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT).
CAPT Titus’s personal awards include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, five Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals and a number of unit and campaign awards. He is a qualified Naval Aviation Supply Officer and Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer. CAPT Titus is also a member of the Navy Acquisition Professional Community.
