Cpl Velez Day Room Project

Join Travis Manion Foundation and the Austin Chapter as we come together to support the soldiers of the 2-7 CAV by improving a space that plays a vital role in their daily lives.

This project focuses on renovating and refreshing the day room located in the 2-7 CAV Barracks. The day room serves as an important place for soldiers to rest, recharge, and connect during off-duty hours, supporting morale, mental well-being, and unit cohesion.

We are currently collecting donations to help transform the space into a more welcoming, functional, and well-equipped environment. Please consider supporting this effort by purchasing an item from the wishlist linked below:

A volunteer workday will be scheduled at a later date, when volunteers will help bring this space to life thorugh improvements focused on comfort, usability, and long-term impact. If you register today, you will receive email updates as soon as the project date and details are confirmed.

Please note, anyone who does not already have access to Fort Hood will need to obtain a pass from the Visitors Center prior to entering the installation.

Together, we’ll honor the legacy of Cpl Velez by investing in the well-being of today’s soldiers and strengthening the community within the barracks.

This project will honor the life and legacy of Cpl Jose Velez, USA.
