Freedom Ruck: Christmas in July Toy Drive

Join Travis Manion Foundation's New York City Chapter and the United War Veterans Council for a meaningful Independence Weekend Freedom Ruck through New York City. Together, we'll honor the fallen, support the living, and build community through purposeful movement.

Participants can choose between two ruck options:

  • Alpha Company will step off at 8:00 a.m. from the USS Intrepid (46th Street & West Side Highway) for an 8-mile out-and-back route

  • Bravo Company will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the 9/11 Memorial Flagpole (180 Greenwich Street) for a 4-mile route to the USS Intrepid

Both groups will rendezvous at the 9/11 Memorial Flagpole before completing the final leg of the ruck, symbolizing resilience, unity, and shared purpose. The pace will be maintained at under 20 minutes per mile, making this event accessible to participants of all fitness levels.

We invite participants to fill their rucks with new, unwrapped toys for our Christmas in July Toy Drive, with all donations benefiting the Toys for Tots Program.

Following the ruck, participants will have the opportunity to join an exclusive guided tour of the USS Arlington (LPD-24) during Fleet Week New York City. Space is limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, with additional tour opportunities available later in the afternoon.

Come ready to honor, serve, and carry the spirit of Independence Day forward.

This project honors the life and legacy of Aaron Lawrence Reznick, USMC.
