Madisonville, KY - Prayers for the Panhandle - Fall 2018

Travis Manion Foundation is partnering with local volunteers to lead a movement of service in support of those affected by Hurricane Michael, by collecting basic necessities through an Operation Legacy Service Project.  Operation Legacy is TMF’s biannual series of service projects that unite veterans, civilians and youth to honor the legacy of our nation’s fallen heroes.

This local Operation Legacy service project is being referred to as Prayers for the Panhandle: a Hurricane Relief Supply Drive. Madisonville, KY businesses will provide drop-off locations for the public to donate much needed supplies through October 24. TMF volunteers will drive the supplies to the Florida Panhandle, leaving on October 26. The goal is to fill three 20-foot enclosed trailers with the basic necessities for the victims of Hurricane Michael.

Through the month of November, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) will host more than 50 Operation Legacy service projects in various communities across the country. Operation Legacy is the fastest growing movement to unite communities across the nation to create positive change, while honoring the legacies of our fallen heroes.

Operation Legacy projects aim to engage veterans, families of the fallen, and civilians alike, by activating them to lead and serve others in their communities. Americans across the country are invited to volunteer with TMF for Operation Legacy, as a way to honor the past and build the future, while exemplifying the strength of America’s national character. By uniting the community for a common cause through service, volunteers live the “If Not Me, Then Who…” mantra of TMF and spearhead a movement of character, leadership, and selfless service.

The Madisonville Operation Legacy service project will honor the legacy of Army Ranger SGT William Patrick Rudd, a Madisonville hometown hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2008 supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
