PHOENIX, AZ - WESLEY BOLIN MEMORIAL PLAZA CLEANUP

Join TMF for a service project on Saturday in Phoenix at the Memorial Plaza.  We will try to have enough trash pickers for everyone, but if you have your own, please bring them. We will also supply trash bags, but highly suggest bringing gloves for the cleanup.

The group will meet at the parking lot on the Jefferson Street side of the plaza. Please bring your walking shoes since we will not only be in the park, but also checking out some of the surrounding areas too.

After the cleanup, the Phoenix Chapter would like to say thank you to all who attend by providing lunch at The Duce. The Duce is close to the project, but it is not walkable.

The Duce is located at: 525 South Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85004.

This project will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Alexander White.

Dr. White immigrated to the United States after surviving concentration camps during the Holocaust. After WWII he attended medical school, emigrating to the USA where he completed his residency. Dr. White was active duty with US Army Medical Corps from 1952-1955. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and has spoken to several
hundred organizations including many veterans groups, immigration and naturalization ceremonies, senior care centers, Rotary, Kiwanis, Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, and schools about his youth and experiences during World War II in the concentration camps. Dr. White passed away on July 18, 2022.
