
Please join TMF and The South Side Community Action Network Civic Association (SSCAN) to help clean-up and build-out two different community gardens. Some of the tasks will include:
- weeding
- planting
- building raised garden beds
- installing exterior siding
- building steps and handrails
These are award-winning community gardens that work to benefit a growing community and family concerns urban farm.
All tools and materials will be available on site. Volunteers are encouraged to:
- Bring work gloves
- Bring a mask or face covering
- Wear closed-toe shoes
- Wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty
- Bring any additional tools if possible
- Bring water
- Bring sunscreen and bug spray
All volunteers will be required to wear a face mask for the entire duration of the project, as well as be aware and respect the 6-foot social distancing recommendation of the CDC.
This project will be honoring Debra Diggs and her dedication and ongoing work within the Southside Community.
Shirts will be available for all volunteers on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sizes may vary.
