KINDNESS - HUMOR - BRAVERY
AN Andrew Charpentier, USN was killed on July 23rd 2009. Andrew was an amazing person, so full of love, caring, generosity, talent, and life. He made an impact on many lives and will never be forgotten. Throughout his life he exemplified many strengths such as kindness, humor and bravery.
When Andrew completed his schooling to be an aircraft electronics technician, he was offered the chance to go to Guantanamo Bay. This was not a place where he could use his education but rather a high risk opportunity. Andrew chose to take the challenge because he knew he would be helping to keep watch over those detained who might want to harm his family and his country. So rather than choosing what might have been much safer, he chose to go where he could help keep his family safe.
Andrew always wanted to share what he had. While stationed in Pensacola at Christmas time, he took an entire paycheck and purchased gifts for needy children. It was something he felt very positive about. He always wanted to give his siblings nice gifts, once he could afford to. He was caring, considerate, and helped people whenever he got the chance.
Andrew enjoyed life. He always wanted to be silly and make others laugh. He had a playful sense of humor which brought great joy to the lives of his friends and family. His outlook was positive and he was able to spread this to others around him. People liked being around him gaining him many friends!
