BRAVERY - LEADERSHIP - LOVE

Robert served as a Mechanical Systems Maintenance Technician with the United States Navy. Rob was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone. He was a gentle soul and loved his family and friends. When I met Rob he was an instructor for the gas turbine. He also loved working as a car radio installer and on car electronics. He was proud of what he did. One time he did a car stereo installation and when he came home he was so excited about it because of who it belonged to. It was Mike Ditka's car. He also built the speaker box for the car. Rob was just a unique person and I am so glad to have had the privilege to call him my husband. He is survived by his wife, children and stepchildren.

Character Strength Story:

BRAVERY Rob was not afraid of anything. He stood proud and stood up for what he believed in. One day Rob and I were walking along the beach and we came across a hammerhead shark that was trapped. At first I didn't see it but Rob immediately went and picked the shark up and threw it back into the water. He was not afraid that the shark might bite him. He was just protecting me. 

LEADERSHIP Rob taught my son how to work on his car and he helped him install stereo equipment. He also taught him how to make speaker boxes. He was a very proud leader and mentor. Rob worked a side job outside of the Navy. He was immediately put into a management position due to his demonstration of leadership.
