Jody was from Plant City, FL, and he always had a smile on his face! He always made everyone around him smile, too, with a joke or a funny story. I remember him telling me he joined the military to get away from things that would have led him down a dark path. In the Army, he was always full of laughter and energy.

Character Strength Story:

HUMOR- We played a lot of board games in Iraq—mostly Risk. He always had something smart and funny to say when we started the game. The one that comes to mind is when he told me, "Squad leaders don't take over the world. But privates do!" He always made everyone around him smile and feel relaxed.
