TOP CHARACTER STRENGTHS

APPRECIATION OF BEAUTY & EXCELLENCE - CURIOSITY - LOVE OF LEARNING

Andrew served multiple deployments with the US Navy as a Navy Nuke submariner and a surface MM2. He was proud of his military career, was an avid hiker, a dog lover, and craft beer aficionado. He loved to be outdoors, exploring new towns, and education. He wanted to continue his service to others outside of the military and become a doctor.

Character Strength Story:

Andrew's character continues to inspire and motivate me on a daily basis. His love of learning, kindness, courage and appreciation of beauty and excellence, and wisdom stand out to me as his top strengths. While stationed in Hawaii, one of his hiking friends found a hurt dog who needed life-saving surgery. The friend could not afford the surgery, so Andrew paid for the surgery. He then continued to volunteer with SPCA in Hawaii, walking dogs, cleaning the facility or brainstorming ways they could get more help for the animals.
