CURIOSITY
Growing up, Chris always wanted to be a soldier. His grandfathers served in WWII and had cousins serve in Vietnam and Desert Storm. Chris graduated #10 in his class from Brockway Area High School in Brockway, PA where he was very active in clubs, music, theater, and sports. He also loved the outdoors and participated in backpacking, skiing, biking, etc. After graduation, he accepted a full ROTC scholarship and majored in Environmental Science at Slippery Rock University. Through ROTC he participated in four years of Ranger Challenge, completed all summer training and qualified for many advanced training programs. Upon completion of his degree and ROTC training, he was commissioned a 2nd Lt. and headed to Fort Benning, Ga for OBC and Ranger school. From Ft. Banning he headed to the 4th ID at Ft. Hood, TX. He was deployed to Iraq with the 1-22 Infantry, 2nd Platoon, Charlie Company. On Oct. 17th, 2006 he was killed by an IED that killed everyone in his vehicle. He was laid to rest in Section 60, ANC.
