Miles joined the Army in 2004, went active in 2005 and transitioned to Air Force reserves 2006. He and his wife were married 09-13-2005 and their son Messiah was born 10-22-2007, his daughter Leyla 07-02-2008. Miles loved his family very much and his laugh lit up a room. He died 08-16-2009 from a self-inflicted gun wound deemed service connected. He leaves behind a wife and two children, both parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Miles was a loving husband, father, son, sibling, and friend. He served his country and family faithfully until his untimely death August 16, 2009. He is truly an American hero.
