KINDNESS - LOVE - PERSEVERANCE
Dorian was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Not only was he one hell of a rider, but he did most of his own repairs. He loved animals, we had an English bulldog named Bentley that passed right after he did. He could turn a tricycle into a Ducati. He had a great heart for others and was always willing to help in any way possible. He could see a person stranded on the side of the road and would pull over to help a total stranger. He had a heart of gold. He helped me raise my son as his own. Now my son is following in his foot steps. My son currently serves in the United States Marine Corps. He has traveled to places we could only imagine such as Germany, Japan, Manila and the Philippines, just to name a few. Dorian served in the Army for 25 years until his retirement in 2014. He always lived his life to the fullest, until his life was taken from him by a gunshot wound to the head at a local gas station.
Character Strength Stories:
Perseverance - In 2013, Dorian had a terrible motorcycle accident and broke his pelvis in half. He was in the hospital and physical therapy for 3 months. The doctors said he would never walk or be able to ride a motorcycle again. He never took no for an answer, no matter what the situation was. In that three months he recovered 100%. The doctors and physical therapist couldn't believe he made such a recovery. In my book, that is a true soldier. Never giving up and being very determined. He will always be my hero. My Superman as that was what he was known as in the biking community. He was the man of steel.
