Robert grew up in Minnesota. After high school, he went into the Army. He was stationed in Fort Bragg, NC and he was Airborne. After some injuries, he transferred to Recruiting in Mankato, MN. Afterwards, he was Field Artillery in Fort Drum, NY. Three days from coming home from the third deployment he had a stroke. After several tests, it was confirmed that he had cancer. He was transferred to Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington DC. They concluded it was terminal so they sent him Minnesota and that is where he passed away.
