BRAVERY - HOPE- LEADERSHIP
Earl Durousseau served in World War II. He was born and raised in a small village known as Palmetto in rural Louisiana. He was my great uncle married to my grandmothers sister. Because, together, they could not have biological children, they raised my mother first. She then went off to college and later gave birth to me. She was 20 and by Louisiana standards that was too young to have a child. So, my life of simplicity was formed as I was truly loved as an only child by Earl and Lontine Durousseau. My father is my Fallen Hero and for him I am forever grateful to have learned to change the oil in a car, change a tire, and do things for myself. I miss both of them dearly but cherish the foundation they provided.
