Pete was struggling with a direction in his life after high school. After much discussion, it was decided that he would join the Air Force to hopefully discover some career choices for when he got out. He began as a weapons loader for the Jets in Okinawa, transferred to loading the B-1 bomber in South Dakota. At this point, he wanted something different and joined The Office of Special Investigations (OSI). He was deployed to Afghanistan as part of a detachment stationed at Bagram air base in September of 2015. He and 12 other OSI agents and security personnel were doing Intel and a "meet and greet' with a neighboring village when a suicide bomber entered a group of 9 people and killed 6 including Peter.
