SSG Keoki Suerth was born in Oahu, Hawaii. He graduated from James Campbell High School in 1989. He served in the Hawaii Army Reserve from 1989 until he enlisted in the active-duty Army. He served on active duty from 1997 to 2007. He came in as a 74F then re-class to 25B. He was stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia; Pirmasens, Germany; and Fort Drum, New York. His last deployment was with the 10th Mountain Division.

SSG Keoki Suerth is survived by his wife and son, Kailer. Kailer is currently serving as a cadet in the United States Military Academy, West Point. He has a heart for service just like his Daddy.

Character Strength Stories:
Love - Keoki was and still is often characterized as "Mr. Aloha". He had a loving, welcoming, unjudgmental, and a cooperative approach to everyone he encountered.

Kindness - Keoki went out of his way to help others. He was always one of the first ones to volunteer for anything.

Humor - As mentioned earlier, Keoki exemplifies the meaning of "Mr. Aloha". He greeted everyone with a smile, always accepting, and quickly included new friends into the group. He enjoyed to make people happy. In high school and through the years of family parties, he was the first one to start off the dancing part at events.
