BRAVERY - FORGIVENESS - KINDNESS
From a young age SSG Ronald Eure wanted to be in the military. He told his parents one day he was going to be in the Cav, and after completing a trade degree in mechanics, he immediately enlisted in the Army. Ronald married his high school sweetheart, Hannah, and went on to have three children. He served in Fort Hood, Fort Knox and Fort Benning, along with two tours overseas and a hardship tour to Korea. While in Korea he was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer, and shortly after returning home passed away. His love for his family, his country, and his favorite pastime of fishing was very evident in his life.
Character Strength Story Submitted by Hannah, Ronald's Wife: "Ronnie always portrayed a sense of bravery. Never once did he back down from his call of duty to this country. He faced both of his tours to the battlefront without fear. While fighting overseas he always stayed strong, knowing that God was with him. Even when faced with a terminal diagnosis of cancer, he kept a brave face for his children so that they would not be afraid."
