David was assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Staff Sgt. David H. Stewart died as a result of what the Pentagon calls a hostile incident in Helmand Province. He was married to Kristine Stewart; and has two beautiful children, MacKenzie and Marshall. "He lost his life fighting for our country you know, and for us to be able to help out and make sure everything goes smoothly for him and his family, it's a big honor," said Corporal Mike Ashe with the Prince George's County Motorcycle Unit. David was deployed three times to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan.
