During these unprecedented times, many of our families and communities are feeling isolated and unsure of what the future holds. However, our Spartan community always perseveres when faced with difficulty and innovates in the face of adversity.
We are taking this challenge as an opportunity to serve the needs of our community. We are adapting our programs as quickly as we can, and we are asking for your help and support to continue to spread the “If Not Me, Then Who…” ethos in these trying times.
What We Are Doing
We have taken our veteran-led character education program and made it available online for free to young adults and parents. Click below to access character lesson plans, videos, and additional resources. We’ve also started an online training program for veteran volunteers so we can continue to provide these services after social distancing imperatives subside.Spartan Development Center
Support on the Ground
Spartans have taken action already, by donating blood, helping neighbors shop for groceries, and making masks for medical professionals--all while following proper safety protocol.

SPARTANS ARE STEPPING UP
BRINGING OUR CHARACTER PROGRAMMING & RESOURCES ONLINE
We are here for parents to make sure their children are receiving hopeful & positive messages in difficult times and to continue their character education, even though schools are not open right now. This virtual learning program is available via Facebook Live each weekday at 1 pm ET/10 am PT and will be led by a different trained Veteran or Survivor Mentor in our community.
Our online Spartan Development Center has been rapidly growing and changing since this pandemic hit and we are ramping up development to provide essential online resources. Parents and children can turn here to access character education lesson plans. We are also moving our veteran training and development opportunities online. All of these opportunities will remain free of charge to support our mission to empower veterans and families of the fallen to unite communities.
ACTIVATING LOCALLY TO SUPPORT VULNERABLE POPULATIONS
We are mobilizing our team on the ground to provide critical services to the most vulnerable populations in need. Using digital survey tools, our team is assessing the greatest needs of the community, and using a data-driven approach to meet those needs. We’re serving throughout the community while still keeping members safe and respecting social distancing imperatives. From collecting and distributing food and medical supplies, to donating blood, to lifting spirits with letter-writing campaigns, we’re here to support those in need.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
You can give to support these efforts. Help us continue to bring our message of inspiration to the next generation and the vulnerable populations who need us right now.
We may not be able to connect with one another in large groups, but there are many ways we can still serve while protecting ourselves and others. We have partnered with My Hero Box, a virtual movement that empowers citizens to collect and deliver personal protective equipment like hand sanitizer and face masks to healthcare workers in need. They have provided six simple steps to participate.
Step 1: Stay At Home
Step 2: Search For These Supplies At Home
Step 3: Grab A Box (Any Box)
Step 4: Put Supplies In That Box
Step 5: Send To One Of These Hospitals
Step 6: Tell Everyone You Know
SHARE THAT #CHARACTERISNTCANCELED

Many of us feel helpless, but there are still ways we can support others in need.Follow us on social media and share photos or videos (bonus points for wearing your Spartan gear) of the ways you are serving, and tag your posts using the hashtag #CharacterIsntCanceled. We want to share your inspiration with others.
Our strong Spartan community continues to amaze us. In turn, we will continue to serve you, serve with you, and build our much-needed community.
