Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) has partnered with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) to provide transitioning veterans opportunities for training to mentor youth and serve their communities. This collaboration will provide personal and professional transition assistance to veterans in Houston, Washington, D.C., San Diego, and Seattle, where TMF will conduct Veteran Transition Workshops, as well as trainings to become Character Does Matter presenters.
This partnership will enable TMF to expand their services to a larger audience of veterans, who will be provided with a redefined role in their community and the platform to engage our youth in the essential discussion of character and servant leadership. This process benefits our veterans, our youth, and our nation, one community at a time.
WWP’s support will allow TMF to expand the reach of their programs for veterans, while growing the community of Spartan Ambassadors for TMF’s Character Does Matter program. TMF’s Character Does Matter Program provides opportunities for veterans and families of fallen heroes to teach character and leadership lessons to young adults through day-long and multi-day team-building exercises, discussions, and experiential learning challenges. Through TMF’s Veteran Transition Workshops, transitioning veterans identify and engage their strengths and passions, build positive relationships, and rediscover their sense of purpose after their military service.
TMF President Ryan Manion said, “Travis Manion Foundation is proud to partner with Wounded Warrior Project to ensure that veterans are recognized as this nation’s most valuable asset. Together, we will provide a platform for veterans to serve within their communities, while ensuring they feel a sense of purpose, and thrive in their post-military lives.”
“Wounded Warrior Project is proud to work with Travis Manion Foundation to reach more veterans and bring our military and civilian communities together,” said René Bardorf, WWP senior vice president of government and community relations. “Through this important partnership with Travis Manion Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project will expand our collective reach to veterans returning to communities that understand and appreciate their commitment to service. Through Veteran Transition Workshops we will reach more veterans with tools and resources that leverage their skills and talents to help them thrive in the civilian sector, while also helping to educate and inspire future generations to serve through the Character Does Matter program. Together, we can reach more veterans and help them continue their service in another capacity.”
