Travis Manion Foundation Honors USAA with its 2022 Community Leadership Award

December 8, 2022 (PHILADELPHIA, PA) — Travis Manion Foundation (TMF), one of the nation’s leading nonprofit veteran service organizations, announced today that USAA is receiving the organization’s 2022 Community Leadership Award. USAA president and chief executive officer, Wayne Peacock, will accept the award at TMF’s 11th annual “If Not Me, Then Who…” Gala on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022 in Philadelphia.

“We are very proud to present our 2022 Community Leadership Award to USAA, a company who shares our mission of serving the military community,” said Ryan Manion, President, Travis Manion Foundation. “Through Wayne’s leadership, USAA has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to our military survivor community, who through our powerful Expeditions program, have an opportunity to connect with one another, honor their loved one, and prepare to lead in their communities by embodying the ‘If Not Me, Then Who…’ ethos.”

USAA, one of America’s leading financial services companies focused on currently serving, veterans and their families, offers insurance, banking and retirement solutions to its more than 13 million members. Under Peacock’s leadership, USAA has demonstrated its deep commitment to the TMF’s mission by sponsoring the organization’s Expeditions program. TMF Expeditions provide military families of the fallen an opportunity to participate in a week-long service expedition to a community in need where they create long-lasting impact, carry on their loved one’s legacy of service, and build their own path forward. USAA also serves as the national title sponsor of the TMF’s annual 9/11 Heroes Run race series, which includes more than 90 communities and 60,000 participants across the country.

“USAA is there for our members at every stage of their lives, especially when they need us most,” Peacock said. “Through its programs, Travis Manion Foundation enables families of fallen service members to recover from their loss and to find hope. We’re thankful we can support these families by working with this character-driven organization, and we’re honored to receive TMF’s Community Leadership Award.”

USAA ranked 96th on the 2022 FORTUNE 500® list and 25th on the FORTUNE World’s Most Admired Companies 2022 list. It was recognized on the 2022 VETS Indexes Employer Awards list as a 5-Star Employer. It also achieved a 100 score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index 2022. USAA leads and inspires actions that improve lives in the military and in local communities, with 60% of its philanthropic giving prioritized for military causes. In 2020, USAA committed $50 million over three years to advance diversity, equity and inclusion.

A proud USAA member for more than 30 years, Peacock joined the company in 1988 in its real estate investment subsidiary and has served on the executive council since 2006. Before becoming CEO in February 2020, Peacock was president of USAA’s Property & Casualty Insurance Group, the fifth-largest auto insurance carrier and fourth-largest homeowners insurance carrier.
