2019 Operation Legacy - Spring

Event Recap

Throughout the month of April, TMF Spartans organize, lead, and participate in community service projects in honor of a fallen hero as part of Operation Legacy. United in selfless service, veterans, military service members, surviving families, youth, and inspired civilians find their “If Not Me, Then Who…” moments while addressing their communities’ critical needs.

In Spring 2019, TMF supported 110 projects in 35 states, with additional projects abroad, in Munich, Germany, and Pyeongtaek, South Korea.

TMF continued its partnership with GORUCK, a sporting equipment company with a community of “ruckers,” who wear weighted rucksacks during their service projects. In Sanford, North Carolina, members of the Sandhills Ruck Club cleaned veterans’ headstones while rucking in memory of SSG Trevor Blaylock (USMC). In Brooklyn, New York, the Brooklyn Ruck Club transported pet food and supplies to the Sean Casey Animal Rescue, where they helped clean the facility and bonded with the pets, in honor of Senior Chief Petty Officer Thomas A. Ratzlaff (SEAL).

In total, more than 3,500 Spartans participated in Spring 2019 Operation Legacy in projects like trash and debris removal, mural painting, volunteering with the elderly, packing care packages, and gathering donations.
