Lt. Brian Robert St. Jacques Deforge graduated from Beekmantown High School in 1999 as an honor student and respected athlete. He married his wife, Jane, in Maryland in 2003. Lt. Deforge was a 2003 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering. He trained in the T-45A Goshawk and was awarded the Top Hook Award. He then went on to Strike Fighter Squadron 125. Lt. Deforge was practicing dogfighting maneuvers when the F-18 fighter jet he was in crashed on June 26, 2006.

Lt. Deforge is survived by his wife and their children, his brother, father, mother, and step-family.

Lt. Deforge was honored through the Travis Manion Foundation Character Does Matter program presented during the USNA’s Summer Seminar and USNA STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Camp for rising 11th graders.
