MAJ Horst “Gary” Moore of San Antonio; was assigned to 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) located at Fort Lewis, WA.Gary was killed when enemy mortar rounds detonated within his unit living area in Mosul, Iraq. – Military Times

Gary had 18 years of service he was in Dessert Storm, Gary entered the Army in 1985 as enlisted, he entered St. Mary’s University in 1989 he graduated with honors becoming a second LT. He had designed a computer class for the soldiers in his field, which was named in his honor. He married in 1996. His daughter Sophia was born Dec 2002. At the time of his death he was a Major. He was a dedicated Father. He was very humble and dedicated to his Job. – Submitted by family

Gary’s service and sacrifice was honored by his family during the 2015 TMF West Virginia Expedition, the 2016 JLM Memorial Expedition and the 2016 New Mexico Expedition.
