After the economic downturn in Pleasantville, NJ, the small shore town faced a series of challenges after businesses shut down and thousands of jobs were lost. However, despite those circumstances, the strong and deep-rooted bonds led the community to unite and work to overcome them. Chief Riggin, the head of the police force in Pleasantville takes pride in its citizens saying, “People who live here, despite all our challenges will tell you that they love Pleasantville.”
Under the leadership of Sean Riggin, the police force has united with the next generation of leaders to create positive change in their community. “If we’re talking about the future of our town, we have to be optimistic." He explains, "We have to be driven to reach a little farther than we have before.” Together, they are working on service projects that are not only helping to improve the local conditions but also the leadership and character of Pleasantville's youth.
